The RIYC CINE CLUB runs free monthly screenings for members and their guests in the Drawing Room. The ambience of the Drawing Room provides a perfect backdrop where you can relax in an armchair and enjoy the movie. Starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant, it is the poignant and true story of Florence Foster Jenkins. Despite her terrible voice, the New York heiress dreams of becoming an opera singer and performing at Carnegie Hall. Her husband (Grant) supports her venture, and Florence Foster Jenkins' (Streep) performance at Carnegie Hall becomes a truly historic event. The King of Comedy Wednesday 20 March
The King of Comedy directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Robert De Niro, Jerry Lewis, and Sandra Bernhard is a satirical black comedy. Aspiring comedian, Rupert Pupkin (de Niro) hosts imaginary talk shows in his basement. When he meets true life talk show host Jerry Langden (Jerry Lewis) he seizes this chance at a break through.
