GRAND PARADE OF CLASSIC SAIL

The parade of Classic Sail celebrates Dun Laoghaire’s great sailing heritage where the worldwide sport of amateur sailing was pioneered and formatted.
This entertaining spectacle for participants and the public on the East Pier is part of Dun Laoghaire’s Coastaval. It follows last year’s successful inaugural event and is open to yachts and dinghies designed or built over 50 years ago. The fleet will sail from the harbour mouth to the bandstand on the East Pier.
Yachting historian Hal Sisk will provide pier walkers with a commentary and description of the individual classes and designs. We hope each class will sail in compact close formation, each sailor supressing their competitive instincts!
