Book Club

The next meeting of the RIYC Book Club will take place on Wednesday 8th February at 11.00am in the drawing room. We will be reviewing The Sellout by Paul Beatty, the 2016 winner of the Man Booker prize. As always no obligation to have read the book to attend.

The narrator takes us from a childhood growing up in a Los Angeles ghetto and through a remarkable journey that challenges the United States Constitution, urban life, the civil rights movement and the holy grail of racial equality – the black Chinese restaurant.

The RIYC Book Club meets monthly from September to June on the second Wednesday of the month at 11.00am in the Drawing Room, all are welcome, including those who haven't read the book.

The RIYC book club is about the enjoyment of reading, no one in this group should feel obliged to read every book every month.  Come and make some new friends, share a laugh, have some complimentary tea and scones, talk about all types of topics & generally just have a good time.
